I spent much of yesterday shoveling a foot of snow from my driveway, and if you know me at all, you know that I’m not complaining.  You also know that I am a huge lover of snow, winter photography, and adventure.

So this week, in a change of pace for me, I’m going to post one image a day.  The week ahead is pretty full, but right now I’m watching Peyton Manning and the Broncos take down the Patriots, and I have time to schedule some posts.

Thanks for checking out the photos this week.  If you were in the path of Jonas, the Blizzard of 2016, I am hoping that you were nothing more than inconvenienced and that you are warm and safe.

  1. Well then, this is going to be an entertaining week! Thank you, Laurie!

I love little sheds. Mine (here) is a well house with a lovely blue door, and the one on the mountain is a very old red smokehouse. Neither have garnered a decent amount of snow that would be worthy of photographing for posterity. Yours is lovely all nestled in snow with the woods for a backdrop.

    • I’d love to see a photo of your shed, with or without snow. They can be such charming structures. This one is not really functional and either needs an overhaul to be useful to more than mice and snakes OR be taken down. I just can’t bring myself to do it.

      • Then don’t do it. Put up a potting table and use it as a potting shed. Hang a 2×4 inside with nails or pegs and use it to store hoses and garden tools for winter. And don’t forget those pots that are waiting for spring to be planted again, put them in there too! OR…
Go whole hog and turn it into your own personal retreat. A reading room, meditation maybe, crafting space? OR…
A spare bedroom for the unwanted guest. You know, the one that comes unannounced and then stays too long. (Just kidding, well OK, maybe not)

    • I’m so glad you are enjoying your time in Texas! I’d love to see some photos … if you’ve already posted about it, please share the link!

      • Really haven’t posted photos. Busy settling in. Rainy and cool. Hope to get to Mexico today/this afternoon. South Padre yesterday afternoon but ugly weather!!!! Sand blown horizontally!!! LOL!!!!!!

  2. I’m glad you are the one shoveling that snow. It’s just beautiful to look at and walk in. You really go a lot of snow! Impressive photo. And Boomdee is soaking it up on the beach while you shovel. 🙂

    • Yes, Boomdee and I were in totally different worlds, eh? I’ll tell you, I am still feeling my muscles after all that shoveling … 3 days later!!

  3. Looks good out there Laurie and happy shoveling! Looking forward to your week of shots and wow didn’t those Broncos just make it. Have to say though I can’t stand that tv add with pitying Manning singing, or whatever it is he’s doing. His sinus’ need clearing. Had to get this off my chest!

  4. I’m sorry but the name Jonas does not have the gravitas necessary for a blizzard of this size. I’m going to enjoy seeing your photos over the following week!

  5. I really love this little shed. You’ve captured it beautifully before, but I think I like this one better. I’m crazy for big, deep snows. Because, if it’s gonna snow, then it should snow like hell. It’s just not satisfying to get 3 inches of snow when you’re dreaming about 18. I would have a blast shoveling there with you, getting frozen fingers and tucking my scarf back in when it comes loose.

    • Go Broncos! Most in this part of the state are pulling for the Panthers (we’re so close to Carolina), but I’m a Peyton fan all the way!
