Comfort

As I sat outside on the kitchen door stoop this evening, I glanced over and saw that the daisies were starting to bloom.

I grabbed the camera, thinking all the while that I have very much missed the creativity of photography, and how far behind I am getting in my learning of this craft.

Deciding that the daisies were deserving of a blog post, I thought of Meg Ryan and her character’s description of daisies. Β It was then that I remembered that I had already used “aren’t daisies the friendliest flowers?” for a post two years ago.

Ah well, they brought a smile to my face none the less.

As did Louie. Β His face will make anyone smile.

Louie and Daisies.

Comfort at the end of the week … and before the long weekend ahead.

  1. You may think “how far behind I am getting in my learning of this craft” all you want but the bottom line is your images are beautiful. And Louie is adorable πŸ™‚

    • Joe, you are good for my photography soul! and isn’t Louie great? He’s here visiting while my brother in law builds the porch!

    • It is the most wonderful thing!
Well not the most wonderful, but it would be if you’d been sitting there with me! πŸ™‚

  2. You are definitely learning. The last two particularly are very well framed.
Not only have I repeated a theme on at least one occasion, but I even used the same titles – so now I have ‘Is This Orlaith?’ 1 and 2

  3. I saw these photos in Facebook first and I have to tell you that yes, they did put a smile on my face! Whoever owns Louie is one lucky person! Beautiful photos!!

    • Louie has come to visit while my brother in law builds the deck. He not only has the most wonderful face, but also a wonderful personality.

  4. I agree with Joe too. Your pictures always look amazing to me … including these. I think all flowers are magnificent and daisies are definitely sunny and friendly πŸ™‚

  5. Oh, how easy it is us for super-achievers to see life in terms of “what we haven’t done yet,” rather than the fantastically impressive: “what we have already done.” You, my friend, are a skilled photographer with a natural inclination for artistry, who has come a long way in the past year in photography ability. You have taken on a totally new medium (digital) and pressed yourself farther than you’ve ever gone in black and white, to everyone’s delight.

So REFRAME, and congratulate yourself instead of fretting about lost time. You’ve got other stuff going on. πŸ™‚ Hugs. ❀

    • Crystal, you have such a great perspective and I really do appreciate your thoughts. Thank you, very sincerely, thank you

  6. Two of the happiest faces, Louie and your beautiful daisy! I could never tire of either. Beautiful light and detail you’ve captured…love the little droplets on those pretty blossoms!

    • The droplets are what drew my eye! I was looking for more clarity but the softness is growing on me πŸ™‚
      Thanks Susan!

    • Hi Suz!! So good to hear from you! I need to visit … soon!
I’ve been trying to figure out a system for writing my own blogs and visiting others while running for office. I’m getting there but still have work to do!

    • Hello LMA!! So good to hear from you!
And by the way, I received more Votes for Women buttons, but did not pay for them as there was no invoice. Did you have something to do with that? I’d really like to do that OR make another donation.
How ARE you, by the way? I’m heading over to your blog now!

      • Hi Laurie, the buttons are just a gift. it’s the least we could do to help you on your mission. You do know that we are so proud of the effort and progress you made. I think you laid a great foundation for another try, xo LMA

  7. Louie is a cutie! I’ve had dogs my entire life and KoKo, my chocolate lab, was always my favorite.

    • I’m not in a good place to have another dog right now, what with the campaign and traveling, BUT Louie almost made me reconsider πŸ™‚

Because Boomdee dared me: Lay a little sugar on me :-)
