On The Way

My contribution to Monochromia this week.  My comments there about this image were:

The morning found me back on the road again, and I was rushing to keep on time.  This scene made me stop the truck, run across the road, and wander around shooting in the dew soaked median for just a bit.

Yet another reason to love photography … the chance to stop, to breathe, and to capture the beauty that surrounds us.

If you have visited yet, Monochromia is a blog devoted to Black & White images, with contributions made from photographers the world over.

    • Thank you, Doreen! It is my plan to visit blogs sometime this week. After making 12 trips in 12 weeks, I’m a bit behind (to say the least). Hope you are well and if you didn’t see it, and you have a minute, check out my previous post about a Blogger Gathering 🙂

      • I did miss that post!!!!! Thanks so much for pointing it out!!!!!! Just caught up with all you gals. Such fun. I don’t think that anyone who hasn’t experienced a bloggy friendship has the slightest clue about how REAL these friendships are!!!!! Words just canNOT convey it!!!! Mucho hugs………………….

      • I knew you would love it! I remember you posting about meeting other bloggers. It’s just so very special … I feel blessed, and know that when, not if, I meet you someday, we’ll have a grand time! 🙂

    • Amy, it’s so good to hear from you! I’ve missed visiting blogs so much, but plan to rectify that problem this week! Can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to.

  1. Oh those trees have a gorgeous shape and wander. I love the thought of you scampering around, finding what you stopped for. Beautiful! So happy you listened to yourself and stopped the truck.

    • Thank you, Carrie. Yep, the wet feet were worth it!
The trees are called Zelcova and I love the way they are planted along the curve of the road. The symmetry is beautiful!

    • you are so right and I just wish I’d had more time to hang out.
Hope all is well in your world. hope to be visiting blogs this week 🙂

  2. Not only do I love this image, I also love your reasoning behind it. It’s a good reminder for me, because, had I been driving in this fog I would have been grumpy about it and missed the opportunity to see the beauty, as you did. Thanks for the photo AND the change in my perspective.

    • Mary, it’s something about those Zelcova trees and the way they curve along the road. No matter the weather, the draw me in.
      Thank you !

    • What was it Pauline kept saying “the photographer’s squat”? 🙂
As I sit here and write this, I so wish you were all still here with me.
I’ll send photos later this week or weekend. Are you recovered from the travel?

Because Boomdee dared me: Lay a little sugar on me :-)
