A wonderful weekend in Florida with friends was well worth the craziness of life upon my return. The Myakka River, designated as a Florida Wild and Scenic River, flows through 58 square miles of wetlands, prairies, hammocks, and pinelands in the Myakka River State Park.
And while I cannot wait to share stories and photos, I’m firmly convinced it is time for a zoom lens!
I look forward to checking out your latest posts!
Beautiful shots. I think you will have a whole lot of fun with a zoom lens. And we will be the beneficiaries of that new gadget in your bag.
Hi Bruce, I will indeed have some fun … now I just have to justify the cost 🙂
Nagging realities sometimes get in the way.
Oh so true …
Yay 🙂 go for a zoom lens. I love mine, barely take it off my camera.
Oh how fun! I’ll look forward to the day 🙂
Wow that’s nice, reckon it would look good with the sun setting too 🙂
Oh yes! I’ll look forward to catching YAS!
Catchy eh? YAS 🙂
The landscape had to be a wonder… the first picture shows us that!!!!! Cheers for the weekend and shots!
Thank you, Rosa. So good to hear from you and to read your always encouraging comments.
It’s always worth the “crazy” to have a little getaway…especially where it’s warm and beautiful and worthy of your wonderful photography.
Thank you, Mary, for your always kind comments about my photography.
And yes … the food, the drink, the walks, the talks.
So, so great!
Beautiful images Laurie 🙂 Glad to see you got away for a “mental health” holiday.
It was so great, Joe.
Hope you are feeling better … I’ve been sending good thoughts your way!
Thank you Laurie 🙂
Sounds and looks like a great escape! Get the lens….
Mae, thanks for the encouragement to get the lens!
Hope you are well (I’m a bit behind on blogs … hoping to catch up this weekend!)
I’m heading to this part of the world soon–even more excited now that I’ve seen the photos!
I hope your trip South is for fun, Kerry, but if not, I’ll hope you get to enjoy some time on the water. Even though we didn’t spend much time on the beach, the sun and breeze sure did feel wonderful
What a little cutie! Or maybe that’s a giant gator from far far away? I hear they roam the golf courses down there…..I think I’d need a souped up cart !! Petal to the metal baby….eeeeeek!
Oh my gosh, wait til you see my Gator photos! We took a tour on the Gator Gal, an hour long guided tour on the river. We saw so many Gators, it was incredible.
Oh what a great adventure, as long as everything stays floating…above water….omgosh you do like an adventure. Can’t you see them from the shore? LOL
I love the peacefulness and harmony feeling that conveys the first picture.
I’m so glad that you like this one, Marcelo. It was such a beautiful place … I just could not stop taking photos!
Love to see more!
Soon, I hope! The political campaign is definitely hampering the time I’d usually spend editing photos (sadly!). Good to hear from you 🙂
I love that first photo. Oh my goodness, beauty and serenity. I am really pleased that you had the opportunity to rest up before the craziness.
I am doing the opposite: I have worked so hard for so long with no good vacation, and now it’s time to go! I can’t wait to share photos from my road trip. Hopefully I’ll come home refreshed, like you did.
So you posted your comment yesterday, which means hopefully you are vacationing today? I’ll look forward to hearing all about it, Crystal!
What an exhilarating shot across that fabulous landscape, regardless of what lurks yonder!
I certainly needn’t have worried about seeing alligators … they were everywhere!! What a fascinating creature … from the safety of the boat 🙂
Oh yeah, love your little lizard Laurie! The return is often chaotic and annoying but the getaway is well worth any re-entry pain!! Glad you enjoyed Laurie, welcome back.
Hi Tina, I’ve been traveling so much (and then there’s the campaign and the job) that i’m way behind on posts / replies / visits. I plan to remedy that in the next few days. Check out my latest posts sometime to read about an incredible gathering of bloggers!
Looks like you had beatfiul weather! Lovely photos.. What zoom lens are you thinking of getting? I’ve been considering on getting one too but not sure if I’m convinced enough.
Zoom lens … i haven’t done any research yet (and in fact, haven’t even processed the images from the Florida trip yet). I just know that i couldn’t get the detail i wanted on these wildlife shots, especially those gators!
Awesome shots !
Thank you!! Hope you are well (I’m a bit behind on replies and visits!)
oh my, that first photo with the reflection is just sensational! And what a sweet little lizard! Your life is so busy right now, I’m wondering how the heck you find the time for photography and blogging…so many talents you have!
Hi Susan, your comment really speaks to life these days, especially since i am replying to your comment almost 2 weeks after you visited! Wow, that’s a first!
Thanks for the positive thoughts on the photos! I so want to continue to grow in photography and am a bit worried about the campaign getting in the way!
Hope to visit your blog in the next day or so!
loved that reflection 🙂
Thank you, Joshi! I hope to visit your blog in the next day or so. I’m woefully behind!
Incredibly beautiful photos Laurie! 🙂
Thanks as always for your generous, supportive comments!
