Sidewalk Art: Would You Have Stopped to Shoot? July 19, 2013 by LB Well, maybe not art exactly. Just some oil on the sidewalk, made more colorful by the late afternoon light and the recent rain. So … would you have stopped to take the shot? Yep, absolutely. I like this and hate it, I like it because it looks pretty and hate it because I have been down the road sliding after my bike way too many times from hitting oil spills..
I hear ya!
It’s definitely art LB, great shot I love it. I would have shot it if I saw it. Really nice job.
Thanks Joe … there I was, coming out the back door of the office after a long day, arms loaded with stuff … and digging for the camera 🙂
Ahhh, showing the artistic beauty of polluted streets! Yes, I love it….
That’s what I was thinking, too … was I shooting some pretty colors or glorifying pollution …
No, not glorifying. Finding beauty where one doesn’t think to look.
Well that is a much better way to look at it, isn’t it? Thanks Mae!
I probably wouldn’t have thought of it but you’ve managed to make something noxious look rather pleasant really. Who knew there’d be anything pretty about oil in the street 😀
I know!! evening light + wet ground + oil + glad to be out of the office = beautiful colors!
I definitely would of stopped for this great art! You have a great heart for the small things in life…it is wonderful!
You make me smile, Laurie. Thanks for your uplifting comments!!
I remember loving this very thing as a kid. I was fascinated by it.
and see? I’m just a big kid! 🙂 It definitely made me stoop and reach for the camera!
