The longest day of the year inspires many things … photography, mass yoga gatherings, 5k races, dances, and parties. My friends held a Solstice Party, a wonderful celebration of summer, family, and friends.
We enjoyed great food and drink in a beautiful outdoor setting. Children played, adults laughed, and everyone danced, waving sparklers and glow sticks around with abandon. All this and a lovely garden tour, too.
I wish I could say that I had taken photos to capture all those moments, but it’s hard to dance and shoot pics at the same time.
Hopefully, you’ll enjoy these, taken earlier in the evening.
And in the Fairy Garden, for Boomdee 🙂
I like that you were too busy dancing to take photos!
Me too!! It’s hard to put the camera down sometimes … this time it wasn’t! Such a fun time!
I have never heard of a solstice party before…but I think I would like to start a tradition…too fun!
I’d been to a women’s solstice gathering before, but this one was even better. Somehow they achieved the perfect combo of kids and adults.
I wanna party with you people! 🙂
Love to have you!! It was so much fun and the sangria was delicious!!
HA! what a NICE surprise, thanks LB! I like that he’s winking and that he’s confident enough to sit that close to a bee hive! Very Cute! Maybe the Gnomes bravery was inspiration for that cool beverage container. You’ve captured it so well. I know how hard it is to get a good photo of a glass container without getting yourself in the photo or shadows from light reflections. I have a hard time photographing my own Gnome Home for that reason. Sounds like you’ve pre-emted July 1st….good warm up event!
So glad you noticed the glass containers! I kinda liked the way those photos turned out. And the one with cucumber, basil and mint was so yummy. I need to keep that around the house.
Great photos. Looks like a fun Solstice party and the winking gnome is too cute.
It was fun getting the garden tour (I’m envious with all they have done) and the Fairy Garden was fun!
