I was walking through the dining room one day last week, and was struck by the morning sun streaming through the window, and the shadows that were created.
I’m also struck by the fact that while women achieved the Right to Vote via the 19th Amendment in 1920, we are still not protected by the Constitution. We’re still waiting …
ERA: Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.
ERA – hard to believe it’s not a reality this day in age. Crazy!
It is incredible … and ridiculous!
Really?!! Women STILL aren’t protected as equal under the US Constitution?! That is a shocking detail I somehow missed.
Yes, SHOCKING! and makes me angry
It should make every woman angry!!
I’m not surprised and totally disheartened by our political system. Not to mention the political system of so many other countries. Very few see women as equal humans.
And to think, we live in 2016.
Sad, angering, and scary
Wow! That is incredible.
Pretty awful, too …
So true… This should be the year that changes….
Fingers Crossed!
It is disheartening in so many ways. Thanks for continuing to shed light on this, Laurie.
It’s unbelievable that we can’t get this amendment passed!
One need only look at the support behind haters like Trump and Cruz to understand why this still remains elusive. It’s beyond discouraging.
Hey America, time to notice that it is 2016, not 1816..
Ugh ….
and waiting
So frustrating, angering, and incredible in this day and time
