Very nice. Things in black and white take on a different feel. I love your header shot.

Oh the glowing bokeh! What a gorgeous background. This just sings in monochrome, it is reminding me of a flower with the cobwebs catching the light and the metal parts holding the lamp together. Beautiful, Laurie. And yes, Monochromania is an incredible collection of talent and subjects.
I thought the same thing and was wondering if it was designed to look like a flower. It’s convincing.

This was truly one of those right time / right place shots.
The way the glass catches the light reflected through makes a great effect, and I’ll bet it’s equally beautiful with the gas on. This design is so appealing.
I found these lamps at Pier One a few years ago, and yes, the design is of a flower. The color of the glass is pinkish / purple and I walked outside just at the right time to catch the sun shining through it. Funny thing … even though the color is beautiful, the B&W really drew me in.

I am beginning to suspect that no matter how well you know composition, how expensive your camera is, if you can be at the right place at the right time, that is the major part.
Agree! If one has the eye and the vision, the outcome is usually good

I love this shot, Laurie – the brighter white of the light against the beautiful bokeh of the more subdued background! Just lovely. And three cheers for Monochromia!!
