So many things at the beach are camera worthy, and let me tell you, I sure do have a lot of photos to work through!
The water! The sunsets! The wildlife!
and yes, the signage!
No Pets, No Fires, No Parking
So many places you can’t go …
and things you can’t do.
Don’t litter,
pick up after your furry friends,
and be sure to call 473-5252 if your vehicle is gone.
But you know what? It’s all worth it!
More photos from Nags Head soon!
How do I sit in the sand if I have to keep my butt off the beach? 😉
I thought that was funny, too
No pets?!?!? That is a no-go for me;0) Have fun, johanna
This sign was outside the restaurant bar/pier. There were lots of fun pups on the beach!
So many Don’ts!
No kidding! The number of signs just really took me back …
Great shots Laurie and I love sign stating no alcohol unless you buy their outrageously priced stuff 🙂
Yep! and of course, I took a pic of my friends standing next to the sign with a beer in the hand 🙂
So interesting, all of the no’s . Every time I have had the opportunity to travel to Europe & abroad, I am reminded of all of the bylaws & don’ts we are surrounded by in North America. I recognise some are in place for good reason, but somehow I feel like we have lost our senses when it comes to just being able to enjoy the beautiful land in which we reside.
Lost our senses … yes! Afraid of the lawsuit.
I must be hungry, because as I read through the signs I was temporarily outraged that I couldn’t have *fries* on the beach.
What a world we live in, eh? Great photos one and all and such an interesting theme for a post. The lifeguard tower shot is my favorite but the sign that told me to keep my butt off the beach made me laugh. Great fun!
Alys – So cute! it’s hard to imagine you ‘temporarily outraged’ 🙂
🙂 Don’t even get me started on Donald Trump. 😉
I imagine he has permanently enraged many Americans ……… 🙂
Indeed! Love you, Pauline.
Can you believe there is actually a “Women for Trump” group? Honestly!!!
The butts sign made me laugh as well!
Laurie, I just shake my head. “Women for Trump” sounds more like a skit on Saturday Night Live or Key Peele. Shudder.
No pets!! No butts!! No home brew!! Too many ‘nos’! Won’t do! 😀
That’s what I thought!
Jumping in to the shallow end cause it looks like fun :p laughing at: No Fries, No butts on the beach and applauding Paulines poetry!
What’s that old song about:
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?
Oh Kerry, you had me singing along!
I was singing along with Lisa! Sad how some things just never change.
Kerry, I swear to you, I originally had those lyrics at the beginning of this post. Great minds!
Way too many don’t but you’re right ~ looks like it’s all worth it.
It was the first time that I’d been in the ocean (or any body of water) all summer! Wonderful!
Laurie, I could smell the surf in that last picture!
I was so happy with how that photo turned out, Lisa. The water was wonderful!
Yup, way too many “negative” signs! It would be much easier to deal with them all if their messages were delivered with a sense of humor. I once saw a sign outside a shopping mall that instead of saying “pick up your butts,” it said “if you want to smoke, there’s an ashtray over there (with an pointing arrow) with your name on it.” Just made me stop and laugh each time I saw it :D.
As for your pictures, love the lifeguard chair, and the beach scene – gorgeous!! Can’t wait for the rest. 🙂
Humor goes a long, long way to making a message more palatable. The number of signs really turned my head during my first walk. I wonder if I’m the only one who noticed them all?
I think with your photographer’s eye, probably so!
Not called Nag’s Head for nothing!
Ha!! That made me laugh, Patti!
Its, kinda freer here, you want to have a party on the beach? Just go for it 😀
I’m there!
Just 12 hours on a plane away 😀
You have no idea how much I’d love an escape! Yeah, I know, I just got back from the beach but work interfered so much that I feel sure I deserve another 🙂
Take a vacation vacation, just to make up for the days while you were not vacating 😀
Aww, the no pets is such a bad luck!
Somewhere in that down is one happy sign painter Livin’ La Vita Loca. Man! I’m hearing that song, “Signs, signs everywhere is signs. Blocking out the scenery and breaking my mind. Don’t do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the signs?” Well this ‘long haired freaky person’ dus protest loudly. Maybe I’m a rebel, just maybe I’ll bring my cat, stop and park on the beach and drink a cool one too. You have bail money right? LOL xo K
It’s so funny that you quote those lyrics as I had inititally put them in this post. 🙂
And yes, I’ll always have bail money for you!!
town….somewhere in that town 😀
Hehe, well now, I’ll do my best to behave. Nothing news worthy anyways, but good to know you have my back. xK
Laurie, I have yet to see an east coast beach, but is on my bucket list. However, when I get there I will be well prepped on how to comport myself! 😉
Loved your photos this morning. 😀
You are so funny, Lynda!
I hope you get to hit an East Coast beach soon!!
