“Nothin’ to Sneeze At”

Three years with WordPress is nothing to sneeze at!

anniversary-2x

And what is the origin of that term, anyway?  According to the Word Detective, “To sneeze at” something or someone is a colloquial usage, first appearing in the early 19th century, to mean that the thing under consideration (Three years with WordPress) may appear modest or trivial but is actually at least somewhat important or impressive.

Impressive or not, three years with WP has had a tremendous impact on my life.  I’ll not tie you down with statistics, but instead offer thanks to all of you for being here with me.  Whether you regularly comment, or more randomly “like”, I’m grateful for all of you.  You’ve encouraged my growth as a photographer (Joe has even provided phone and text consults), have followed me on my motorcycle journeys, supported me after my wreck, contributed to my campaign, created beautiful gifts for me, and have spent time with me in Virginia.

You’ve become my friends, and my life is richer for all that you share.

Your photos and drawings, your stories and poems, your creativity and crafts, and your life lessons learned.

My sincere thanks.

See ya on down the road!

    • Thank you, Derrick! I hope to visit your blog later in the week. The campaign is keeping me just a teeny bit wrapped up 🙂

    • Thank you my dear friend! and thanks for the update via email. I needed to hear how things were going over there. Replying soon!

    • Thank you for the gesundheit! and the comment 🙂
I actually got to ride yesterday – 130 miles on some curvy back roads were just what I needed.

    • Thank you, Alys. I sure could use some quiet time in my living room with some of my favorite bloggers. Or your living room … I’m not picky 🙂 Just as long as we’re all together!

      • I wish it could be so, Laurie. I’m reveling in those fond memories. We tried to drag out those days for as long as we could, but they still seem to have passed in a wink.

You must be exhausted every day.

  1. I’m so glad our paths crossed (although, if I’m correct, it was quite soon after your horrendous cycle misadventure…..;-( Your photos are so lovely and carry so much meaning and it’s been so much fun to watch your photo skills develop (sorry, a bit of camera humor!!! Hehehe..). Looking forward to the next 3 years…………………………………

    • Love the camera humor! I hope to visit your blog soon, Doreen. The campaign is keeping me a bit wrapped up. Hope you are well and happy!

      • All’s very well here! I’ll be expecting your visit as soon as your life settles a bit!!!! Sending hugs and the best always………………

  2. Three years is great! And you’ve managed to keep at it through a lot of changes in your world. I hope you keep writing and shooting photos to share with us for (at least) three more years!

  3. Congratulations Laurie its been great watching your photographic metamorphosis but it would be even greater to do a face to face consult 🙂 Hopefully one day really soon my friend. By the way were your ears ringing yesterday ? Stacy was mentioning what a blast you are to Patti and me 🙂

    • I am SURE we will have that face to face consult, but it won’t be soon enough. Thanks for sending the link to your day in NY. I just know it was incredible!

  4. Three! Seems like forever to me. Thank goodness for the magic of you as we’re all the better
for it ! Wishing you Blue Sky’s over the crest of every hill LB. Lots of love K

    • I still remember asking you a question about something you’d added to a blog … was it a postcard or something? No matter, I just remember reaching out and wondering how you added all those creative touches to your blog!! So glad to hear from you!! It’s a busy time for all, isn’t it? I told Alys the other day that I wished we were all still hanging out in my house, enjoying laughs, talk, food, and just being surrounded by fabulous friends!

  5. Congrats, Laurie!!! Putting up with WP for 3 years is a miracle to me! 🙂 I am so honored to have met you. It’s been a JOY to see your work and to get to know you as well. Good luck with the next year! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

  6. Shazam! This photo is a knockout! Nothing at all to sneeze at (and thanks for the background on that phrase). Three years and omigosh how much has happened in those years. Laurie, I can hardly believe how many things happen in a life in a single year. We’ve all followed each others’ small and big stories all this time, and it’s brought us closer than I could have imagined a blogging community can be. I love being invited into your life via your LOTB. Congratulations on three years well spent. Hugs. ❤

Because Boomdee dared me: Lay a little sugar on me :-)
