Peaceful

The days after Christmas are some of my favorite. Β The hustle and bustle have settled down, yet the lights and tree are still up.

So while I get back into the routine of work, after a 4 day weekend, I have the pleasure of coming home to lights, still softly shining in my home.

(after hitting publish, I found out that this post is my 400th!)

    • Thank you, Joe! By the way, I had lunch with my friend Tim, who is quite the photo nut / computer nut. You all have much in common. He just bought his first mirrorless camera … went with the Sony. I was telling him that I was encouraging you to hold a photography class one weekend and he’s in too πŸ™‚
      Someday ….

      • The Sony is a good camera so he made a wise choice. By the time you are done telling people about this class we are going to have to rent a hall, LOL. Thanks again for your vote of confidence Laurie πŸ™‚

    • It’s been lovely, and I hope the same for you, Bruce! I’m so glad to have gotten to know you through some of those 400 posts! Looking forward to continuing our blogging friendship!

  1. 400!!! Congratulations, LB!!! What an accomplishment. Keep it going, LB. I look forward to your upbeat posts and terrific photography in 2015. Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

    • 400! It kind of took me back to see that number. I’m so glad to have made friends like you through our blogs, and know that I’m always so glad to hear from you. Your support and comments mean much to me!
Happiness and good health to you in 2015!

  2. 400!!! Yay!!! We have been leaving our little blue/white light tree lit 24/7 over the last few days. So nice to enter the room on these dark mornings to see that cheerful glow! I’m with ya on these “wind-down” days following all the gatherings, etc………..exhale slowly……………………

  3. And right there is the reason why we should put up a tree with pretty sparkly things and lights in the middle of winter! We don’t get to appreciate our pretty lights until close to midnight [due to the long twilight] and before 4am. It’s a narrow window! I’m beginning to think I might have to create something special for Mid-Winter!!

400 posts is quite an impressive number – here’s to the next 400! πŸ˜€ xoxo

    • Yes! I love that Mid-Winter idea. Let’s make a new holiday … “Mid-Winter Lights”
      or something like that!
Take care, my friend, and thanks for being here for many of those 400 posts!

    • Thanks Mae. I’m so glad to have gotten to know you through many of those 400, and by following your blog. Happiness and health to you in 2015!

  4. I didn’t put up any decorations this year that involved lights . . . and I missed them. I agree that just sitting in a dark room with the tree lights on is a special treat. And 400 posts is very impressive–keep up the great work!

    • Thank you! and I feel the same way about your blog πŸ™‚
By the way … some blogging friends and I will be meeting in DC this spring. Perhaps we can meet for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Let me know if you’re interested (and I completely understand if not!)

      • Please keep me posted on your blogger get-together. I’ve only connected in person with one other blogger ~ it was odd, but FUN! Would love to meet-up…

  5. Congratulations on 400 posts, Laurie. I wonder what that translates into photographs taken? I too love the after holiday glow. The work is done, the tree is still up, and the colder weather means more time at home. I know you appreciate and enjoy it all.

    • Thank you, Susan! This one the one ornament that made it to the tree … okay, I exaggerate … there were three on it! πŸ™‚
Next year, I’ll get more ornaments up but for this year, it was all about the lights!

  6. 400! Holy Toledo LB! Way to rock the Hallows of WP. The fun part is we can come back and visit these days years from now and chit chat over old fashion camera gear, LOL It’ll probably be part of your visor while you’re riding you’re flying your jet propulsioned Harley. You pic oozes warm and comfort, which I always feel here. xo K

    • You are so right and you know? I started this blogging journey as a way to document or journal my rides / trips. I of course still do that, but it has become so much more!
I just told another blogger that “this photo showed the one ornament that made it to the tree … okay, I exaggerate … there were three on it! Next year, I’ll get more ornaments up but for this year, it was all about the lights!”

      • LOL, way to Celebrate LB. I’m still plugging in my tree every night and actually have it lit this morning as a nod to Ukrainian Christmas and for my dad.

Hey the Christmas ‘take down’ will be a breeze! xo K
