Yes! I’m dreaming of a White Christmas!
As Alys at Gardening Nirvana so amazingly remembered, I finally started to focus on Christmas – yesterday – the 20th of December.
Since my old fashioned Christmas (otherwise known as “just now focusing on the holiday”) is not yet white, I pulled up an image of January of 2013, and I’m thinking positive!!
(and by the way, this image has had very little post-processing. It really was this glorious that early morning almost 2 years ago)
There is something about a white Christmas that just makes everything OK.
You are so very right! Even if it keeps us off the road 🙂
Wow Laurie, how I wish my Christmas would look like this! Glorious! Merry Christmas to you…and I hope your dream comes true!
It was such an incredible morning with the sun shining pink on the new snow. Magical!!
Merry Christmas to you, too!
What a Glorious capturing of the spirit of winter!! Glad you showed it again. Well, my dear, enjoy your Holiday times. xoxox Johanna
Thank you, Johanna. Joyful holidays to you, too!
Spectacular photo. That glow needs no editing. Welcome to Christmas. 😉
Thank you, Crystal!! It was such an incredible glow … the sunrise cast a lovely pink glow on everything.
I’m dreaming for the snow soon too… This is an amazing picture 🙂
Thank you! I’ll hope we both get snow!
Yeah I hope too !
No editing required. Beautiful
Thank you, Bruce! and I haven’t forgotten your photo request!
Everything looks so much better covered in snow! Merry Christmas to all of you!
Thank you for those kind wishes! Merry Christmas to you, too!
WOW what a shot Laurie the light was just glorious 🙂
Thank you, Joe!
It was early in the morning after a beautiful snow and I was on the way to work. No one was on the road, so I just stopped the truck and shot the scene. It was beautiful!
What a beautiful winter photo! I hope your dream comes true. 🙂
Thank you!! I hope so, too!
Yay you on the positive thinking! Personally I’m hoping for a non-white Christmas but it seems anything can happen these days weather wise so maybe I’ll just go with whatever appears……… The light in your photo is glorious! Isn’t it hard to believe it’s already Mid-Winter/Summer already!!
And tomorrow is the Winter Solstice. I can’t believe it’s here already. I’ll hope we both get our weather wishes this year!
🙂 Extraordinary! Thanks for the mention Laurie. Go forth and decorate, though with the above image in mind, it will be impossible to top mother nature. Maybe yo can bundle up for the day. I’ll cross fingers for the cold, fluffy white stuff.
As I looked through my archives for this shot, I was a bit surprised by how many winter photos I’ve taken. I do love what Mother Nature does to the earth in the winter.
So far, I have a tree up, albeit a small one, candles in the window, pretty linens on the table, and Andrew’s and my stockings are up. Not much … but this year, simple may just be the ticket.
I’m looking forward to the weekend after Christmas for that is when I will listen to music, do some baking and gift wrapping.
I’m a week behind … and that’s okay!
I think simple is great. And your plans for baking, wrapping and music over the weekend sound wonderful to me too. Enjoy it all.
Love that shot. Beautiful.
Thank you … Mother Nature painted a beautiful scene that morning!
Oh thats so beautiful…..we’re waiting for the snow here too. Today it was 15 degrees!!
Fingers crossed for both of us! Your photos will be beautiful if the snow does arrive, I’m confident!
Absolutely breathtaking!
It was such an incredible morning. I stopped in the middle of the road, stood on the running board, and took the shot (because of the newly fallen snow, no one was on the road).
Thank you!
Merry Christmas to you! I love the photo and love the look of a white Christmas – I just hate driving in the stuff!
Yes, and I’m sure it shuts your city down … unlike my little town. I’ll hope you get the beauty without the hassle!
That photo is a beauty! Winter can bring such unexpected glory–glad you were there to capture it. Have a wonderful Christmas!
you are so right! Winter scenes make for such incredible photography. Merry Christmas to you, too!
Beautiful photo! It’s brown here, in a place that’s supposed to be white at Christmas. I’m hoping that we get a little covering of white before Wednesday, but not sure it’s going to happen.
Yes, it’s brown and rainy here, too.
But inside … warm with lights on the tree and in the windows.
Merry Christmas!!!
Hi Laurie! 🙂 Merry Christmas to you! I wish that we could have a white Christmas here.
I’m so glad to hear from you!! I’ve tried to access your blog a few times over the months and don’t always have success. I hope that all is well with you!
I’m very much alive here, thank you for your concern. I need lots of motivation to bringing my blog alive. I admire your photography skills.
OH! Laurie! This photograph takes my breath away. I’m hoping for a White Christmas as well, but it is not white yet, with the little frosting of snow we had, all melted. Wishing YOU a very Merry Christmas!! IF you can, come on over to Petals on Tues evening to see my Christmas post. (smile) I promise you will enjoy it! (((HUGS))) Amy
Thank you for your comments about this image! Heading over to your place now 🙂
Beautiful shot, LB. You brightened up my day! Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
Jim, thank you. I’m so grateful to have made this virtual friendship with you.
Much peace and happiness and health to you and yours as well!
Gorgeous image, LB…the stuff of memories now. I hope your Christmas is gently white this year. 🙂
Thank you so much! Health, happiness, and peace to you and your family as well!
Most welcome, LB…and thank you. 🙂
Well, you keep on dreaming girlfriend, you just never know. Miracles do happen. Merry Christmas.
Lovely message! Merry Christmas to you and Tarzan 🙂
Quite magical Laurie – looks like you’re getting rain this Christmas but you could always frame this one and pretend!!! All the best for the holidays 😄
yes, tis raining.
BUT my son is home from Atlanta, and the family will gather tomorrow and that is really all that counts (although I’d still welcome that snow!).
Enjoy this holiday season, Tina!
I “liked” this when I saw it a couple of days ago, but I had to come back and look at it again. I don’t really care about a white Christmas so much anymore, but this photo is absolutely magical, Laurie!! Merry Christmas to you! xox
Thank you, Mary! I’m so glad to be able to keep in touch with you on FB!
Have a very Merry Christmas and much happiness, too!
I’ll never get tired of looking at this shot. My gosh you live in a beautiful area. I love the lilac’s and pinkish hues that peek thru the composition. Makes me think of how nature painted this morning so effortlessly with a gentle brush. As you say, “glorious” xo K
It really is almost like a painting, isn’t it?
You should have seen me … stopped in the middle of the road to take the shot. Thankfully, there weren’t many people out there driving 🙂
Spectacular shot! We’ve got rain here this year but we’re warm and cozy on the inside! Happy Holidays!
Thank you! yes … rain here, too, but content to have family gathered round. Happiness to you and yours as well!
Nice one, must have blinked and missed it..
well, I sure blinked and missed your comment 🙂
I hope your dream has come true. I didn’t experience snow though 😦
My dream did not come through … I’m still hoping for January though!
It would Laurie.. 🙂
