This image, but in black and white, is my contribution to Monochromia today.
And you can see the B&W image here, too …
Hope you all have something fun planned for the weekend! I’ll be catching up on chores, checking out your blog posts, watching the Hokies play Carolina, and of course spending a little time on the bike!
It’s good to see both versions side by side Laurie. I liked the b&w on Monochromia, but LOVE the greens in the colour photo. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Pauline! It’s been a great weekend, full of play and work. Hope you were able to do some things that bring you joy!
I, too, love that green color. I didn’t even process it … that is the color as Mother Nature made it!
“checking out your blog posts, watching the Hokies play Carolina, and of course spending a little time on the bike!” sounds good to me, especially the last bit:)
Yes, the bike ride was great – only 80 miles but on curvy roads on a beautiful fall day. First time a leather jacket was required. (and the Hokies won!)
I always wore a leather, no matter what the weather..
You don’t need a squall to take a fall 😀
True that. I dropped the bike at the end of this ride and was glad to have had that padding … as it is, I have a lovely bruise on my elbow.
In the UK we called gravel rash scars on the elbow “bubble gum” 😀
There’s so much to say about this one. What a beauty of a catch of light and curves. The movement of the branch into the leaf is nothing short of sensual. And I just love their shadow on the leaf below. This one is brilliant.
Thanks so much Crystal! Sometimes they just come out of the camera almost perfectly!
Today’s shots, taken while riding, not so much. Ah well … next time!
I like the color photo best! So rich with such interesting light.
Thank you, Kerry. That green color really grabbed me as well 🙂
I started at Monochromatic and came back here to see it in colour. I’m enjoying both but do fine I gravitate to the colour one more. The golden hour just needs colour I think, it just makes me more glad for the day. Go Hokies ! (ha) xo
The Hokies won!! YAY!
and it was a beautiful weekend … football, hot dogs and s’mores around the fire, lots of cooking with basil, and a little time on the bike. The only thing that wasn’t good was the photos I took along the way today … so thankfully, the photo in this post was lovely, right out of the camera!
You have a great eye. After the color shot with the light suing on the green, I didn’t wanton look at anything else!
Thank you, Janet! That green color really was wonderful!
Lovely autumn light
Yes indeed! It was a perfect evening!
The light is so beautiful, love them both!
Thank you! I definitely ventured into the yard at the right time!
Love the changing light.
Yes! I thought that shine on the one leaf was pretty incredible!
Well, now you’ve done it. I can’t decide which one I like better. Guess I’ll “like” both here and on Monochromia. But don’t expect another comment over there, too. I’m a man of few words!
I’ll not expect another comment but am grateful for this one, Emilio! Hope you had a great weekend!
The colour shot really catches the eye.
I’m so glad you think so! That green is a startlingly beautiful color
I like both versions but the monochrome really highlights the light on the leaf. 🙂
That light was pretty great! So glad I happened by when I did.
Beautiful shots and comparison Laurie 🙂
Thanks Joe!
Love the one with green more this time. Often it’s the other way around. Always a pleasure to come here and see what you are up to.
I love to hear that you enjoy the blog, Deborah. Thank you!
Very little post processing was done on the green image. It really is as nature made it!
Very beautiful, never would ahve thought it works even better in B&W!
Have a great weekend,
Ron
Thank you, Ron! It’s fun to have an image that works well in color and B&W.
