… as Joe says, If you love B&W Photography, check out Monochromia and the group of photographers who participate in this blog.
Depsite the rain and cloudy skies that I encountered while riding through the hills and hollers of Kentucky, I was none the less, struck by the beauty of the area. Walking into the mist during an early morning hike in Breaks Interstate Park, I was surrounded by the quiet sounds of morning in the woods. The light coming through the trees let me know that the canyon was not too far off, but once I arrived, I had to use my imagination as to what lay before me. No disappointment though … just peace.
The return to work, and life in general, has so far been a barrier to sharing the tales of my recent travels. I will get it done, however, and I’ll hope you’ll come on over to Life on the Bike and Other Fab Things to ride those roads with me.

Work getting in the way of Fab things such as life on the bike?
Yes, Bruce! What am I to do about that? I am trying really hard to catch up with everything … I fear that I may need to curtail the social life 🙂
Now, don’t rush to conclusions.
This one does evoke the peace you are talking about. It makes me want to take a deep breath. Hopefully, it does that for you, too. Hugs.
I need to keep taking those breaths, Crystal, and hopefully I’ll catch up soon!
It’s a beautiful and serene photo. 🙂
Thank you! hope you are well!!
You know already how much I love this photo – it is magical! xoxo
PS Please get on your bike and ride around in all kinds of misty weather through all kinds of beautiful woodland and forest and trees taking more pictures like this. Give up work if necessary 🙂
Thank you for giving me the permission to ride and enjoy and yes, give up work!
Such a lovely thought!
Wouldn’t it be grand – I’m writing a post about this very thing soon 🙂
Simply stunning.
Thank you, Rona. I so appreciate your comment
Really mystical and serene Laurie – beautifully done!
Thank you, Tina. I’m grateful for your comment.
Something about the mist or fog through trees really get me–magical, mystical, primeval–not sure what, but I love it. This is a beautiful shot. So glad you shared.
Hi Deborah! So glad you like this one … the morning was pretty special indeed.
I hate when work gets in the way! Lovely photo and can’t wait to see more!
Me, too, Mae! I do love what I do, but I’d love to have more time out of work … especially to enjoy scenes like this one.
Laurie, forgive me but I thought I had commented. I hope you are back into the swing of things (balancing work, the bike, social life, but most importantly, photography)! This shot of yours is very serene and what I wouldn’t give to be able to wake up to a scene like this in the morning. I think we all need less work and more time for what really gives us pleasure!
I LOVE that shot SO much. I’m writing a fantasy, and that photo makes me think of places in the story. (In the story, there are characters caught in the mist of entropy.) It also reminds me of the woods where I used to play as a child. Thanks for posting this!!
Mary! I’m not sure how I missed your comment, but here I am 2 weeks later, thanking you for commenting. I truly was just thinking of you and wondering how things are going with writing … and with life.
Thanks so much!
Just have to say it again: stunning.
Big smile on my face! Thank you!
