Grounded

During the middle of our zero degree day, I literally ran outside in between patient appointments to capture the incredible blue sky. Β As I turned around to go back inside, the colors of these leaves caught my eye.

Today … the sky just could not compare.

  1. THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!!!! The pale teal(?) is a stunner and sets everything off so perfectly (but it is composed by the Master Artist, yes?????). Absolutely perfect post!!!!! Hugs………..

    • Thank you, Laurie! I was just commenting previously, that I went by the same spot today and the colors already seem to have faded .. so glad I caught them the other day. Perhaps it was the cold, cold weather πŸ™‚

  2. What amazing colours – I have never seen anything like that – is it a result of the weather conditions? They look as if they have been painstakingly hand painted or dyed and artfully arranged ….. nature is a wonderful thing!

    • I think it must have been the weather … the colors seemed to have faded today, and the temp was as high as 40 degrees. Thanks Pauline πŸ™‚

  3. It’s amazing how many colours can fall from the same tree, it would be a pretty water colour painting for a capable artist. I like the lightest coloured ones best, it’s like turning on a light.

    • I know! I think the tree is a type of Japanese Maple, but not sure. And it was the light ones and the teal ones that caught my eye.
I’m getting ready to leave the office after my first full 5 day work week, full tilt since the wreck. Phew! Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend, Boomdee!! As always, I love seeing your comments. xoxo

      • You made it to Friday! Hopefully unscathed πŸ˜€ We are planning to drive out to see Franny Daye, Mr’s B.’s mom and tonight is the ‘NO cooking night’..ha! So that’s always a good start. What’s shaking on your social calendar? You seem to always be doing something fun!

  4. LB, your lovely catch has reminded me, that when I was very little we used to rake up the leaves in a big pile out front, and then I would bury myself inside. It was a camphor tree, if I recall, and the smell was divine! πŸ˜‰

    Gorgeous photos!

  5. Hi LB, when you talked about the “zero degree day,” you reminded me to crank up the air conditioner. It’s burning hot here in the Southern Hemisphere, which makes looking at your beautiful pictures even more appealing.

    • I’m so glad I could bring some cool to the heat down there! Today … just rain but it’s made for a lovely fog (do I sound crazy?) πŸ™‚

Because Boomdee dared me: Lay a little sugar on me :-)
