While in Atlanta this past weekend (watching my beloved Virginia Tech Hokies) my friend Ruth and I were given a tour of several local neighborhoods. Theresa, our friend and tour guide, was good to let me jump out of the car at various times to capture some of the flavor.
These shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art.
Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”.
More Photos from the Road soon!
🙂 interesting image … I like it 🙂
Thanks! I found out some more info about the tunnel …in case you don’t have a chance to go back and look: “the shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”.”
Cool shot LB, I love it 😀
Thanks Joe! This is what I found out about the tunnel (and have since added it to the post): “The shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”.
How cool is that?! I’ve always wanted to try make a painting of some dangling shoes (it’s on the list)!
🙂
I thought it was cool, too!! And this is what I found out about the tunnel (and added it back to the blog): “The shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”. Good luck with the painting – I have no doubt it will be awesome!
They seem to have come a long way.
How many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man?
Bob Dylan – Blowing in the wind
How many, many times have I sung that song? It’s a beautiful one. I added the following information to the post: “The shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”
A leprechaun lost their shoes? 🙂
I wonder … 🙂 Thanks so much for checking out my site!
This could win you an award, I think!
Liz! You made my day! I added the following information to the post and know you will appreciate the background: “The shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”
Neat shot 🙂
Thanks! I added some background information to this post and will share some other photos another time: “The shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”
Love that photo!
Thanks Mae … and I think you would have loved the whole tunnel with all of the art work.
This is way too cool…who knew you could find green shoes as art! Photography is so fun, you just never know what you are going to capture!
Too true … but I want to be better!! Do you think I could just quit my job and focus (pardon the pun) on photography? Ha!
Way fun! One of my ALL TIME favourite movies is ‘Big Fish’ with Ewan McGregor playing a guy named Edward Bloom. Ed Bloom sets out on an adventure and passed thru a quaint yet whimsical town called Spectre. When he enters the town, there’s a whole bunch of worn out shoes thrown over a line just like in you photo. Long story short, your wonderful photo made me smile because I love every single moment of that movie.
Well, now I’ll have to see “Big Fish” and think of you when watching it. This tunnel was so cool! Such bright colors and fun paintings. I wish I’d had more time to take pictures (instead of jumping out of the car, running through an intersection and snapping what I could before my friends came back). 🙂
