Green Shoes at the Krog Street Tunnel

While in Atlanta this past weekend (watching my beloved Virginia Tech Hokies) my friend Ruth and I were given a tour of several local neighborhoods.  Theresa, our friend and tour guide, was good to let me jump out of the car at various times to capture some of the flavor.

These shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art.

Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”.

    • Thanks! I found out some more info about the tunnel …in case you don’t have a chance to go back and look: “the shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”.”

    • Thanks Joe! This is what I found out about the tunnel (and have since added it to the post): “The shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. Locals call it “Atlanta’s living bulletin board and urban art gallery”.

    • I thought it was cool, too!! And this is what I found out about the tunnel (and added it back to the blog): “The shoes were hanging over the Krog Street Tunnel, which is known for it’s street art. 1. Way fun! One of my ALL TIME favourite movies is ‘Big Fish’ with Ewan McGregor playing a guy named Edward Bloom. Ed Bloom sets out on an adventure and passed thru a quaint yet whimsical town called Spectre. When he enters the town, there’s a whole bunch of worn out shoes thrown over a line just like in you photo. Long story short, your wonderful photo made me smile because I love every single moment of that movie.

    • Well, now I’ll have to see “Big Fish” and think of you when watching it. This tunnel was so cool! Such bright colors and fun paintings. I wish I’d had more time to take pictures (instead of jumping out of the car, running through an intersection and snapping what I could before my friends came back). 🙂

Because Boomdee dared me: Lay a little sugar on me :-)
