What is it about sunflowers that make us happy?
My sister and I spent a few hours in downtown Roanoke this past Saturday while waiting on my motorcycle to get it’s 10,000 mile check.
Breakfast. Exploring the Farmers Market. ย Just being silly.
In addition to all that goodness, I found out that it was the Voltage Regulator that was draining my bike battery. Problem Solved!
It was a beautiful ride home! ย Next time I’ll bring the camera!
Just being silly and having laughs with a sister or good friend is the best! Those are some of the times I cherish most. I love the photo of the sunflowers and glad you had a happy, safe ride home, Laurie.
I’m so lucky to have one of my sisters within an hour’s drive. It was a lovely day, all in all
Looks like it was a beautiful day Laurie ๐ As a bonus you got your bike fixed and also had time to hang out with your sister and take these beautiful (and kooky) images.
We were trying to send a photo to our parents and it just got silly ๐
Not a bad shot for the cell phone, eh? I had to leave the house at 7am to get to the dealership on time and I completely forgot the camera.
Ah well … those sunflowers would have been hard to screw up, even with a cell phone.
It sounds like it was a perfect day! … and you captured that wonderful cloud photo at the end ๐
There was some seriously beautiful big open sky that day.
Happiness!
Sister Selfies!! Sounds like a perfect day, and yes, sunflowers make me smile too. ๐
Suzanne and I were trying to take a photo to send to our parents and it just got silly. Silly FUN!
Such a lovely way to wake up–with your photo of happiness in my inbox. It’s true about sunflowers, they do put a smile on my face. Also the cute photos of you and your sister, and that magnificent landscape, all green and blue. Thank you.
Deborah! So good to hear from you, and thank you so much for your kind comment. I’m so glad this made you smile. It was a morning for smiles, for sure!
You still have sunflowers! They are gorgeous! I like the idea of sister selfies. I’ll take one next time mine comes by. We are very different but best friends. Anything that drains the battery on a bike is NOT good. Glad you got that resolved. And sister time to boot. ๐
It was such a lovely day! Laugher, beauty, fresh air, sunflowers!
and please do take a sister selfie next time! We laughed and anything that makes us laugh is a good thing
Sunflowers & pansies are the happiest flowers on the planet! Sounds like you enjoyed a perfect day LB!
Hi Lynn! and I’ll add daisies to that list as well. They all bring such joy.
Laurie, I love your sister selfies. There is nothing quite like it. I’ve have some treasured friendship selfies as well, and they are often my most treasured pics. I love that you can get together with your sister. I see Sharon at least once a week, even if it is just a brief check in.
Sunflowers: They’re tall, majestic, complex, warm, rich in color and texture with beautifully patterned seeds. I can look into their soul. I like growing them, a crop that can grow from a single seed to a six to ten foot plant. Their flower heads follow the sun. The birds eat bits of the leaves. And the squirrels polish of the seeds. They should call them the giving flower. Abundance squared.
Alys, your comment made me so happy! To read those words, knowing that, if all went well in the ordering process, some sunflowers would arrive at your home, was wonderful.
The giving flower. Perfect!
The flowers are still fresh and vibrant several days later. They make me so happy. Love to you, Laurie.
How wonderful to have a sister to take silly selfies with! And a fixed bike – and sunflowers……. Life is good!! xoxo
Indeed! I felt completely content after that lovely day.
And here’s me thinking that only teenagers did silly selfies ๐
Ha! I want to see one of you, soon ๐
๐
that is fun ๐
Thank you, Joshi!
