Whether it's one simple yet somehow perfect day or a dreamed about journey finally realized, I never want to forget the joy of the moment or how fortunate I am!
Yes, the lichen was an added bonus. I could have stood there for a lot longer, but my fingers were not enjoying the 20 degree temps! This morning is my “blog catch up” time, so I’m heading over to your place 🙂
I hope you have some of Pauline’s fingerless gloves!!!
I don’t … one of those items I keep meaning to purchase, but forget … until my freezing fingers remind me!
I bought some for my brother last Christmas and he loves them. I’m wearing mine quite a bit, too, when it’s above 40 degrees.
Lisa, do you recommend a certain brand?
I bought them from Pauline, who made them less Mimi and more Rodolpho. There are fingerless gloves for construction workers, though that my brother recommends. But they cost a bundle (I don’t think they’re even sold in pairs; you get one for your dominant hand).
Fantastic images Laurie 🙂 There’s beauty all around us !
Frost is always lovely to capture. I like the rust and the lichen too in the first picture.

Knowing your love of barbed wire and rust, I hoped you’d see this post. I can only imagine your skill applied to this scene
Love these images Laurie!
Thanks, Lynn, for taking a look at the result of my crazy 🙂
Kind of dark, Laurie, but mostly cool. Nice!
yeah, well, we know I ain’t right 🙂
And, see, that’s what I like about you 😉
There’s a metaphor in here.
That might life is frosty cool? or that I can be as dangerous as barbed wire? 🙂
Your photos. Your metaphor. However, I don’t know if that second one works. 🙂
I’m not a lover of barbed wire – nasty stuff! But somehow you manage to make it look interesting 🙂 xo
Yeah, I know, I’m a little skewed sometimes
Not a fan of barbed wire but you managed to make it look beautiful. Well done!
Thanks Patti. I’ve got a love for weird things sometimes …
…that’s a good thing!
I love frost on barbed wire…actually a on many things…nicely done!
Thanks! Your images of frost have been really great this year
Thank you LB…
The colour is pretty and I like the focus in the first. Difficult subject, well handled Laurie.
Thank you! The first is my favorite, too
Edgy and engaging, such wonderful photos.
Charlie, I’m so grateful to have you visiting! and I look forward to getting to your place, soon!
Frost on barbed wire looks pretty cool. Whenever I see barbed wire I always think “wire knot”
yes! Can you imagine the original makers of barbed wire and how cut up their hands and arms would be?
How about the modern method?
Well now, that’s a tough job. Can you imagine just watching that machine all day? Thanks for sharing!
Erm , depends on how much it paid, never underestimate a boring job 😀
I have had a few
You see things that the rest of us wouldn’t notice! The photos are a perfect example!
Kerry, thanks for supporting my sometimes weird sense of view
I usually love barbed wires and frost..and if the frost is on a barbed wire, than I definitely need to take a shot 🙂
YAY!! You understand!
Laurie, only you could make this so compelling. Thanks for the smile.
Thanks for supporting my crazy sense of what’s cool (pardon the pun)
🙂
so beautiful 🙂
Nice series. Bokeh and DoF are great fun to play with.
I somehow missed this post! And yes, you are right, I do love frost on barbed wire. These are lovely, and the first in particular.
Sadly, you have reminded me that I need to do an early-morning grocery run.
